Zambia: Green Buffaloes Eye First Win At COSAFA As They Face Ntopwa FC Challenge

Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club will be looking for their first win of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League| COSAFA Qualifiers when they take on Ntopwa FC of Malawi this afternoon.

Buffaloes were held to a 1-1 draw by Double Action Ladies of Botswana on Wednesday and will hope to get maximum points this afternoon.

The Zambia army sponsored outfit have welcomed back defender Agnes Musesa back to the fold after missing the first match due to suspension.

Ntopwa FC who are making their debut at the tournament were also held to a goalless draw in their opening match by Lesotho Defence Force.

Coach Carol Kanyemba Daka may have to make a difficult decision with Musesa back, does she go into the starting line up straight away or Memory Nthala who was impressive against Double Action continues ? It will be interesting to see what she decides.

Aisha Mbwana is expected to continue between the sticks but Eunice Sakala and Ng’ambo Musole could provide a solid replacement should the gaffer decide to tinker around with the goalkeeping department.

With Musesa back, Memory Nthala could drop to the bench to continue the Lushomo Mweemba, Musesa partnership in the heart of defence.

Martha Katila Banda and Loveness Malunga are expected to continue as right back and left back respectively.

Judith Zulu is expected to continue her role of protecting the back four.

Skipper Joana Benaya, Lubasi Pumulo, Maweta Chilenga, Salome Phiri, Enelesi Phiri, Esther Banda, Comfort Selemani and Diana Banda are all available for selection.

Upfront Maylan Mulenga is expected to continue leading the line and could partner Xiomara Mapepa, Agnes Phiri, Natasha Nanyangwe or Bwalya Namute Chileshe.

Kick off at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium is 15h30 while Double Action take on Lesotho Defense Force in a lunchtime kick off.
