Zimbabwe Prepares for 44th SADC Summit with Key Meetings on Industrialization Goals

Zimbabwe is set to host the SADC Senior Officials and Finance Committee Meeting in preparation for the 44th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit on 17 August. The Standing Committee of Senior Officials, serving as a technical advisory body to the Council of Ministers, will participate in these crucial discussions, with representatives from each member state.

This year’s SADC Summit will focus on industrialization under the theme “Promoting Innovation to Unlock Opportunities for Sustainable Economic Growth and Development Towards an Industrialised SADC.” Since 2014, SADC summits have consistently prioritized industrialization, emphasizing its role in driving socio-economic development in southern Africa.

“I will proceed to Harare for the 44th Ordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government, the proceedings of which will centre around the theme: “Promoting Innovation to unlock opportunities for sustained economic growth and development towards an Industrialised SADC.
