Trident Energy Begins Drilling in Equatorial Guinea

International oil & gas company Trident Energy has started its second drilling program in Equatorial Guinea. The milestone comes after the arrival of a semi-submersible drilling rig in Luba, offshore Equatorial Guinea.

The rig is set to perform drilling operations for three deepwater wells in the Ceiba & Okume fields in Block G as well as one exploration well in Block S. Additionally, under the terms of the contract, the rig will conduct two well interventions.

“This ambitious program represents a significant investment for 2023 and 2024 and demonstrates our commitment to the region as we look to maximize production and continue contributing to the long-term prosperity of Equatorial Guinea,” said Trident Energy in a press statement.

The company also announced that it is in the final stages of preparing the tie back of the wells to existing production, storage and transportation facilities.
