Having already been surprised by the performance of the southern African country despite its position (143rd) in the latest FIFA rankings, the African champion reminds the Togolese not to forget the complicity of this kind of team.
“I don’t know if I have any particular advice for the Togo national team. But all I know, I think they know it better than me, that these teams are always difficult to play because they are teams that want it, they are teams that are not super well ranked in the FIFA rankings, but these are teams that are very complicated to play, especially on the grounds of Africa…”, declared Joseph Lopy.
Indeed, the last match between Eswatini and Senegal ended in a draw (1-1), an equalizing goal which relieved the African Champions in additional time. Sadio Mané and his compatriots did not expect it at all, especially since they were leading the continent long before CAN 2021.
“It was a very hard-fought, very complicated match because, once they scored, they regrouped last and it was a difficult block to move”, testifies the Senegalese evolving in France.
“It’s a very, very complicated team. We may have to try to score first. The sooner we score against these teams, the more they discover themselves … Try not to leave them the opportunities and above all kill the match as soon as possible, ”he hammered.
As a reminder, Togo will first host Eswatini this Friday, June 03, 2022 at the Kégué stadium in Lomé.
