Somalia: Government launches Project To Support The Stabilization Of Areas Liberated From Al-Shabaab

The Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia, Salah Ahmed Jama, launched the emergency response project and funding needs of the Emergency Operations Center. , which is part of the National Disaster Management Agency (SODMA).

The Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Prime Minister pointed out that this project is important in the fight against the Al-Shabaab group, calling on the Somali people to play their important role so that the people can achieve complete stability.

Salah added that al-Shabaab has a habit of destroying public services, such as health, water and education facilities, and therefore the government is pursuing a program to stabilize areas liberated from al-Shabaab and resettle refugees.

This project, in collaboration with SODMA and the World Bank, is a response to the urgent needs of the armed forces and the local population to deliver essential services to the liberated areas.
