The Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship, Vinicio Pina, and Manager of the PROANDI School – Consultores Associados, Lda., Carla Sousa, signed today, September 20th, a Cooperation Protocol for the professional training of young people from Sao Tome and Principe.
The signing took place at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship (MJDE), at the end of the audience granted to the Portuguese delegation, made up of Paula Sousa, Coordinator of Training and International Cooperation, and Cristina Moreira, from the Training and Responsible Area by Private Security, respectively.
PROANDI started contacts with the MJDE a little less than two months ago, through the Association for Cooperation, Culture and Sport between Portugal – São Tome and Principe, and as a concrete result, 57 students have already been enrolled for the current academic year 2022/ 2023
The two parties expressed their willingness to implement the Protocol now signed, opening the possibility for a few dozen young people to be enrolled in the courses that should open in the first half of 2023. He was also present at the hearing and at the signing act. , the Director of the MJDE Office and Responsible for the Management of Vocational Training Scholarships, Nelson Mendes.
The MJDE has partnerships for the professional training of young São Toméans, with about 15 Portuguese schools, having enrolled, in 2021, 414 students. Currently, the MJDE is negotiating to obtain scholarships for technological specialization courses (CET), in order to benefit a large number of young people who have already completed the 12th grade.
