The Peoples National Convention (PNC) has voiced its concern over the swift and rushed reopening approach adopted by the Ghana Education Service (GES), particularly regarding first-year students. The party highlighted the plight faced by students and parents after receiving school placements and being promptly pressured to report to schools within a short span of three days.

Expressing dismay, the PNC emphasized that numerous students found themselves placed in schools distant from their regions or localities without prior consultation or consideration of their preferences. Janet Nabla, the General Secretary of the PNC, underscored the financial strain on families, stating that the abrupt expectation put undue pressure on parents to muster the necessary resources.

The PNC’s statement stressed the importance of heeding the concerns raised by the Speaker of Parliament, as representatives of the people, urging the Ghana Education Service to contemplate pushing the reporting deadl壯陽藥 ine to January 3, 2024.

The proposed extension aims to provide ample time for parents and students to adequately prepare for the upcoming academic year, thereby mitigating the stress and anxiety currently prevailing due to the hurried situation.

Ms Nabla further urged the GES to prioritize students’ welfare and academic achievements, urging them to address the raised concerns promptly. The party highlighted the significance of an inclusive, fair, and accessible educational system that caters to all Ghanaian children, ensuring that no one is left behind.

The PNC underscored the need for collaborative efforts between the GES, parents, and students to shape Ghana’s educational future, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balanced approach that prevents any party from exerting excessive influence and disadvantaging others.
