Officially… the Champions League final has been moved to Paris

The European Football Association “UEFA” decided today, Friday, to move the final of this season’s Champions League from Russia, to the French capital, Paris, after the military attack launched by Russia on Ukraine.

The European Football Association announced, through its official page, and the official page of the European Champions League on “Facebook”, the transfer of the match, which is scheduled to be held at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia, to the Stade de France in Paris.

The match will be held at the Stade de France on May 28, and the European Football Association’s decision to transfer the final to France came after Russia’s military attack on neighboring Ukraine.

“We thank President Macron for his personal support and commitment to bringing the best game of European club football to France at a time of unparalleled crisis,” UEFA said in its statement.

“In cooperation with the French government, UEFA will fully support the efforts of multiple stakeholders to ensure the provision of rescue to footballers and their families in Ukraine who are facing dire humanitarian suffering and displacement,” the statement added.

The Stade de France will host the final match of the European Champions League for the third time after 2000 and 2006, and the first time witnessed Real Madrid’s victory over Valencia with three goals without a response, to crown the royal with the title for the eighth time in its history.

In the second, Barcelona defeated Arsenal (2-1), to win the Catalan team the cup for the second time in its history.
