Ashoka Africa has launched a Changemaker Teachers Activation Programme initiative to boost education in Nigeria.
In a statement, Ashoka disclosed that the initiative was designed as a one-year “learning journey” which recently kicked off with Changemaker Teachers Activation for JSS1 to JSS3 teachers in Lagos State.
“It will continue to deepen its roots and expand its impact, ultimately empowering millions of schoolchildren and young people in Lagos State and Nigeria with new skills to thrive in the 21st-century world,” the statement said.
According to the company, the initiative was a transformative experience and a comprehensive learning-teaching solution, one that empowers teachers, students, young people, families, communities, and stakeholders in the education ecosystem as they take a life-changing step on the journey of mastering empathy and practising change-making.
“This unique experience is a result of deep-rooted collaboration and co-creation involving Ashoka and partners including the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Teach for Nigeria, United Way Nigeria, and leaders and influencers in the education sector, as well as co-leaders of the “Everyone a Changemaker” movement
“CTEACH’s mission aligns with Nigeria’s National Policy on Education and resonates deeply with the Lagos State Ministry of Education’s unwavering commitment to revitalising the educational system, equipping students with 21st-century skills, and preparing them for the dynamic world ahead,” the statement said.
