The Muslim community of Niger celebrates on the night of this Tuesday, September 26 to 27, 2023, the anniversary of the birth of the prophet Mahomed (Peace and Salvation be upon him) or Maouloud which corresponds to the 11th day of Rabi Awwal of the year 1445. On this occasion, the Muslim faithful of the “Tidjane” brotherhood meet in the mosques to commemorate this night marked by invocations, prayers and reminders of the life of the Prophet Mohamed who must serve as a model for hoping for mercy and prosperity. , peace, security, living together among the community.
In Niamey, this ceremony was led by the president of the Islamic Association of Niger, Cheikh Djibrilla Soumaila Karanta at the mosque of the great prayers of Niamey under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the transition of Niger, Mr. Lamine Zeine Ali Mahaman in presence of members of the transitional government and those of the National Council for the Protection of the Fatherland (CNSP).
In his message, the president of the Islamic association of Niger indicated that this commemoration which contains moments of glory and prestige, flows of perpetual divine light, is the true celebration of Islam and the right path that the Lord has instituted. to save humanity, perfect its humanism and restore the link that binds it to its Unique Creator,
“Our dear country Niger is envied for what God has given it, such as research, security, stability and comfortable life among all the daughters and sons of Niger,” he noted.
After calling on the faithful to a sense of patriotism, Sheikh Karanta formulated great prayers for the country.
Speaking on this occasion, Prime Minister Lamine Zeine firstly, on behalf of the head of state, Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, thanked the Ulemas who kindly invited them to this ceremony which marks the birthday of the best of men “we are at this ceremony to reflect the commitment of all the government behind the head of state to continue working towards the affirmation of our sovereignty that we would all like to see from Niamey to the most distant village of this country “, he announced.
Lamine Zeine also called on the ulama to continue to pray to Allah so that peace and mercy descend on Niger.
