Mauritania: Chinese Ambassador – The Year 2023 Witnessed Fruitful Cooperation With The Country

The Chinese ambassador to Nouakchott, Li Beijing, said, “The year 2023 witnessed fruitful cooperation between China and Mauritania in many fields.”

This came Thursday evening, during a ceremony organized by the Chinese Embassy in Nouakchott, on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the founding of China.

The Chinese diplomat referred to the visit of Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Ghazouani to China, during which he attended the opening ceremony of the 31st summer edition of the World University Games, late last July.

He talked about the signing by the governments of the two countries, on the sidelines of the visit, of “the cooperation plan between the two countries within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative, which would deepen and expand exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, energy, infrastructure construction and other fields,”

He praised the Mauritanian-Chinese relations, considering them “a model for China’s relations with Arab and African countries.”

He expressed Beijing’s readiness to work with Nouakchott, “to advance relations of friendship and cooperation to a higher level.”
