On Wednesday, the Stade des Bareas in Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo, witnessed violent clashes in new demonstrations, leaving at least sixteen people injured, among them four policemen. This incident adds to the growing tensions gripping Madagascar in the lead-up to the November 16 presidential election.

The latest episode unfo壯陽藥 lded during another protest by the opposition coalition ‘Collectif des candidats.’ The opposition lawmaker for Antananarivo’s fifth constituency, Fetra Ralambozafimbolona, was arrested for questioning by the police during Wednesday’s demonstration.

The ongoing protests, led by the coalition of opposition candidates participating in the upcoming elections, aim to denounce what they deem “an illegitimate electoral process.”

With thirteen candidates in the running for the imminent election, including incumbent President Andry Rajoelina seeking a second term, the political landscape is fraught with tension.

Last month, the Constitutional Court’s dismissal of appeals to declare President Andry Rajoelina’s candidacy void due to his dual French nationality sparked anger among the opposition, setting the stage for heightened unrest in the election run-up.
