Libya: PM instructs ministries to coordinate to speed up evacuation of Libyans from Ukraine

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, instructed a number of deputy ministers of transportation, interior affairs, health and higher education, in addition to administrative and financial affairs bureau of the foreign ministry to speed up the evacuation of Libyans from Ukraine in coordination with the crisis committee of the foreign ministry.

The Foreign Ministry announced evacuating a first group of Libyans – 200 people – from Ukraine to Slovakia on two buses from the headquarters of the Libyan embassy in Kiev, adding that more groups will be gradually evacuated with the priority being for families, patients and students.

According to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, delayed evacuation of Libyans was prompted by complicated measures demanded by the Libyan embassy in Ukraine, calling on Libyans and Ukrainian nationals married to Libyans who live near Slovakia border with Ukraine to contact the crisis committee of the Libyan embassy.
