by admin-anb

US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of $11 million to support relief work in Libya in the wake of the torrents and floods that swept the east of the country.

“Today, as the people of eastern Libya continue to recover and rebuild from devastating floods, the United States will provide an additional $11 million to support local and international organizations in responding to their urgent humanitarian needs,” Biden said in a statement published by the White House on its official website.

He added that the US State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) will assist in the necessary coordination to deliver this aid to the people who need it.

The statement indicated that the United States continues to stand by the Libyan people in this difficult time.

He stressed Washington's commitment to supporting the political path towards a unified, freely and fairly elected government in Libya that can effectively respond to the needs of its people.
