The administrative capital of Yamoussoukro is one of the top five Ivorian cities preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off in January 2024.
Architected by SCAU, the new stadium boasts a capacity for 20,000 spectators and has received a stamp of readiness from local authorities.
Stadium officials affirm its preparedness, having successfully accommodated 37 matches and the turf showcasing resilience, signaling readiness without any concerns.
Abdoul Aziz Sidibe, Director of the Charles Konan Banny Stadium, affirmed, “The stadium has proven itself, with no issues, ensuring optimal conditions for all participants to deliver a high-quality spectacle. Yamoussoukro stands ready.”
Surrounding the stadium, a synthetic surface athletic track, alongside dedicated areas for jumping and throwing events, has been established.
The city’s renowned landmarks, including the iconic basilica, are undergoing restoration in anticipation of the grand event.
