The new IATC, BDAC partnership will, among seek to identify and develop avenues of business in various sectors of the Ghanaian economy
BDAC Ghana Limited, an indigenous Ghanaian strategic consulting and advisory company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the India Africa Trade Council (IATC) to strengthen business relations between the two entities and to develop reciprocal cooperation between India and Ghana through BDAC Ghana Limited.
The new IATC and BDAC partnership will, among other things, seek to identify avenues of business opportunities in various sectors of the Ghanaian economy and that of the rest of Africa, to facilitate the exploration of the opportunities by their (IATC and BDAC) respective clients.
The MOU was signed in Accra on Monday, 11 March 2024 at the end of a working visit of a 12-member IATC delegation to Ghana. The delegation was hosted by BDAC Ghana Limited and its affiliate PMK Ltd, an Africa-focused Finance PR and Strategic Partnerships consultancy, both headquartered in Accra, Ghana.
Chief Executive Officer of BDAC Ghana Limited, Mr Ammishaddai Ofori, in his interaction with the IATC delegation noted that as a consultancy, BDAC has extensive experience working across multiple sectors with both local and international partners in Ghana and the rest of Africa. He emphasised BDAC’s capacity to support IATC and her clients in their quest to do business in Ghana.
Investment interests
Leader of the IATC delegation, Trade Commissioner of IATC, Dr Chetna Ilpate, in her remarks at the ceremony to climax the visit, praised BDAC Ghana Limited and PMK for their warm reception and professionalism.
Dr Ilpate highlighted the delegation’s strong interest in investing in key sectors of the Ghanaian economy including health and pharmaceuticals, agro-processing, tourism, mining, and energy.
Solomon Potakey, Senior Partner for banking and strategic partnerships at PMK, emphasised the breadth of opportunities and deep insights, across all sectors, that the Ghana team presented to the IATC delegation.
Engagements
The IATC delegation as part of their working visit to Ghana, paid a courtesy call on Dr Okoe Boye, the Minister of Health Designate. In his engagement with members of the delegation, Dr Okoe Boye briefed them on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), emphasising its primary role in covering healthcare costs for Ghanaians registered under the scheme.
Dr Boye indicated that discussions on projects in the health sector will commence once he assumes office. Among the areas of focus will be the field of cancer care. He told the delegation that the health ministry will be looking forward to leveraging on the IATC – BDAC Ghana Limited partnership to attract investments in the field of cancer care.
Dr Chetna Ilpate and her delegation also met with Andrew Agyapa Mercer, former Deputy Minister for Energy and Minister-designate for Tourism, and Michael Okyere Baafi, Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
