Guinea: WELHY-CIS Wins The Management Contract For The Living Bases (Mining Camps) Of Simfer Rio-Tinto (Simandou Project)

The contract for management of Simfer Rio-Tinto’s life bases (mining camps) as part of the Simandou project was awarded to WELHY-CIS after examination of the call for tenders.

WELHY-CIS is a joint venture formed by WELHY Sarl, a Guinean SME founded by Falilou BAH and CIS, a French group founded by Regis ARNOUX, based in Marseille and listed on the Paris stock exchange.

WELHY, founded in 2018, operates in the management of living bases and associated services. This consists of collective catering (catering), cleaning of surfaces (offices and accommodation), laundry services, equipment maintenance (facility management). The Guinean SME with 230 employees plans in its strategic plan to deploy its services in the capital for company head offices. And also to develop new activities in the field of tourism and agriculture.

The company is managed by Falilou BAH, its manager, assisted by his partner and director of operations, Hassane CAMARA. The two childhood friends have a long combined experience in large groups abroad and in Guinea: USA, France, Central Africa and West Africa.

This adventure is a model of risk-taking, abnegation at work and rigor in the management of the company. The two partners praise the action of Simfer Rio-Tinto which advocates and applies a real policy of promoting local content as provided for in the laws in Guinea.

The two entrepreneurs draw the attention of ordering companies as well as the country’s high authorities – in charge of the development of SMEs – to the promotion of professional partnerships between Guinean SMEs and large international companies. Because unlike purely financial partnerships, industrial partnerships (of professions) allow a real transfer of know-how and technology in favor of our SMEs.
