by admin-anb

The Secretary of State for Social Communication praised this Wednesday the appointment of the new director of Jornal Nò Pintcha, stressing that it serves to “eliminate masculinization in the sector”.

“In all the written press you see few women”, said Francisco Muniro Conté, when speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Elsi Dias Pereira, new General Director of the newspaper Nô Pintcha and two other recently appointed, namely Hipólito José Mendes, new Inspector General of Social Communication and Emerson Gomes, General Director of Social Communication.

Conté asked the new DG that Nô Pintcha be more explanatory, contrary to what it has been until now.

From the three nominees, Tuesday, at the Council of Ministers meeting, Muniro Conté asked for zeal and dedication, and reiterated the promise to work with the Government to create better operating conditions for public media bodies. “Once these conditions are created, I will demand more quality in your productions”, he said.

The new General Director of Jornal Nô Pintcha (JNP) promised to perform the role with zeal and dedication to increase female value.

Elci Pereira Dias said she believes she will perform this role with all the rigor and capacity, adding that she represents a woman appointed on merit.

He thanked the Secretary of Social Communication for his trust in him to direct the Jornal Nô Pintcha, where he has worked for 21 years.

“The 48-year-old JNP should have its own printer. Unfortunately, until now we print the newspaper in a private company and in color,” he said.

He asked the Secretary of State for Social Communication not to forget the JNP and the Guinea News Agency (ANG) like previous executives.

In turn, the new General Director of Social Communication, Carlos Emerson Gomes, considered the situation of the sector to be weak, in terms of employee employment, non-compliance with laws, lack of equipment and the meager salary that staff receive.

He promised to work with partner organizations to raise funds and asked for everyone’s engagement to change the paradigm.

The Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Communication, Hipolito José Mendes, promised to carry out a regulated and meticulous work, for the benefit of the sector, in the exercise of his functions.

It should be remembered that this is the first time after 48 years of its existence, that the JNP is led by a woman.
