Guinea Bissau: ECOWAS And Germany Join Forces To Enhance Stability And Development In The Country Through FRSD Initiative

The ECOWAS Commission has officially initiated interventions in Guinea-Bissau under the Fund for Regional Stabilization and Development in Fragile Regions within ECOWAS Member States (FRSD).

This joint program intends to enhance crisis resilience and long-term economic prospects, particularly for vulnerable populations including women, youth and migrant returnees. The milestone was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) involving the ECOWAS Commission, the Government of Guinea-Bissau, and the German Government.

The MoC signifies the commencement of strategic activities in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, characterized by a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, efficiency and effective collaboration in implementing intervention measures.

The FRSD is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and is executed through the joint efforts of Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH.
