France Hosts Humanitarian Conference on Gaza Amid Escalating Crisis.

Paris welcomes a pivotal humanitarian conference on Gaza, uniting European Union heads of state, UN representatives, and Red Cross officials. Notably absent is Israel, as the objective is to formulate “concrete responses” to the plight of Gaza’s residents amidst the Israeli military offensive in response to Hamas attacks on October 7.

Addressing the severity of the situation, French President emphasizes the urgent need for a humanitaria犀利士 n pause and ceasefire to safeguard civilians. The international gathering aims to deliver practical solutions for the people of the Palestinian enclave.

Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of UNRWA, underscores the importance of addressing the Palestinian status to stabilize the region. The French President calls on humanitarian actors to contribute to peace and security initiatives in Gaza while reminding Israel of its responsibility to respect the law and protect civilians.

President Macron emphasizes that the fight against terrorism must adhere to rules, cautioning against compromising values in the process. Israel, however, denies the existence of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and conditions a ceasefire on the release of hostages.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh emphasizes the urgency of ending the occupation and colonies, urging the international community to intervene.

The deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza prompts France to increase its emergency aid to €100 million, with an additional €20 million announced during the conference. President Macron calls for coordinated and concrete organization of aid to efficiently reach those in need.
