He pointed to the joint and continuous cooperation with the Global Environment Facility during the recent period, stressing that the workshop is a good opportunity to review and learn about the updates that have been made by the Global Environment Facility during the recent period, especially in the eighth phase, and the challenges facing our country, whether at the level of projects or implementing agencies. .
The head of the Environmental Affairs Agency expressed his aspiration to see the successful experiences and the possibility of benefiting from them during the coming period, by presenting the experiences and partnership of the participants with the Global Environment Facility.
Abu Sunna added that the workshop includes a number of panel discussions and round tables, including an overview of the GEF group of funds, a discussion on ensuring the comprehensive participation of GEF partners, the roles of civil society organizations and youth in the GEF partnership, and a presentation of funded projects and GEF grants. Global and co-financing.

He pointed out that the workshop aims to clarify the mechanism of procedures that must be followed when wanting to request funding or develop a project funded by the Global Environment Facility, ensure that projects are compatible with the country’s priorities and obligations under relevant global environmental agreements, and understand the development of cross-border, regional and global projects and how to develop them. On the sidelines of the workshop activities, a field visit to projects funded by the Global Environment Facility will be organized, including the land reclamation project in the Ajloun Forest Reserve, and a visit to the laboratory equipped through the regional project GEF.5.
