Djibouti: General Assembly/FDA – Saïd Ismail Hassan Re-elected for a Second Term

At the end of its elective general assembly which took place on Saturday in its headquarters, the Djibouti Athletics Federation re-elected President Mr. Saïd Ismail Hassan for a new four-year term. The happy elected head of this august institution is not unknown in the field of Djiboutian athletics since he has led the federal organization for the past four years.

This elective general assembly was honored by the presence of many personalities, in this case, Mrs. Aicha Ali Garad President of the National Olympic Committee, the Director of Sports Mr. Abchir Ali Hassan and the Director of the Sports Agency Mr. Mohamed Ali Omar and the various presidents of the Djiboutian athletics clubs as well as several sponsor partners. The judicial officer Mahmoud Omar Aden took in hand the conduct of the vote for the election of the new president of the FDA for the period 2022-2026 with a single candidate in the line (the outgoing president) with a vote of 23 voters . The latter was pleased with the smooth running of the vote and declared Mr. Said Ismail Hassan, elected with a number of 23 votes in favour. This gives a vote of 100% in relation to the votes cast.

Following the vote, Mrs. Aicha Ali Garad, President of the Olympic Committee and Sports Director Abchir Ali, congratulated the new President, Mr. Said Ismail Hassan elected to head the FDA for a 4-year term, with a honorable score and also thanked all those who directly or indirectly supported him. Speaking on this occasion, the lucky winner stressed that “if 2019 was a lively sporting season, 2020 presented itself as a year of substantial survival. The Federation stopped its activities for 14 months, almost all the sporting events of the year 2020 and 2021 like our International Meeting were canceled, and yet we managed to organize some competitions on the National Plan. »

“Despite all these unforeseen events, during the past four years, our athletes have been able to win 13 medals, including 4 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze. The desire to continue, the optimism that makes us hope for better times, the desire to find ourselves and bring our cause to life lies in the substrate of our Federation.
