Last Monday, under the patronage of the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Moumin Hassan Barreh, the Diwan of Zakat distributed the first installment of sponsorship for orphans in the great hall of the People’s Palace.
As an extension of its social support programs, the Zakat diwan organized a ceremony dedicated to the distribution of the first installment of orphan sponsorship for the year 2022.
This sponsorship ceremony brought together on site the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Wafq Property His Excellency Moumin Hassan Barreh, the Minister of the Interior Mr. Said Nouh, the Minister of Trade Mr. Mohamed Warsama; the president of the board of directors of diwan of Zakat, Mr. Abdoulbasit Ahmed Al-zouraiki and the general manager of the foundation of diwan Mr. Souleiman Houssein Moussa, as well as the principal representatives sponsors of the civil and military establishments.
During the event, these contributions were distributed to approximately 1,160 orphans in Djibouti City and the suburb of Balbala. Knowing that this gesture comes after the distribution of these seasonal contributions during the past week, to orphans in the interior, particularly in the regions.
This ‘initiative was created by the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh in 2004, in this regard the diwan of Zakat has implemented the project of sponsorship of orphans since 2007 with the aim of supporting and help the most important segment of society especially the orphans of the country.
In his speech, the director general of the diwan of zakat Mr. Souleiman Houssein Moussa underlined “the tangible importance of this installment of sponsorship of orphans, which intervenes in complex global humanitarian conditions due to high prices and the spread global poverty rates. He drew attention in his speech to the organization of this event periodically and regularly since the creation of the foundation on the initiative of the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh.
On this occasion, I have the pleasure of expressing my sincere thanks to the President of the Republic as the first founder of this charitable project “kafala project” and as one of the main sponsors, and I also thank the Minister of Muslim Affairs for his continued support of the orphan sponsorship program. affirmed the dg of diwan of the zakat. In conclusion, Mr. Souleiman Houssein Moussa recalled that the sponsorship project for orphans is one of the social and charitable projects of Diwan, asking Allah Almighty to accept donors and sponsors and that they should be those of whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Me and the one who sponsors an orphan will be in Paradise (he gestures with his fingers, index and middle fingers).
The ceremony was crowned by a series of interventions, including the speech of the representative of the major sponsors, Mr. Abdallah Said Waiss, and that of the chairman of the board of directors of diwan of Zakat, Mr. Abdoulbasit Ahmed Al-zouraiki,
On the other hand, the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Wafq Property Moumin Hassan Barrreh “that the care of orphans has become one of the duties of all those who have the capacity to participate in this humanitarian initiative, which is part of within the framework of the social policy set by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, in order to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and empathy between the different segments of our society.
The orphan sponsorship program continues to expand in quantity and quality, and we hope that the Zakat diwan will become the biggest sponsor and the only reference at the national level in this field. There is no doubt that benefiting from the expertise and experiences of the institutions that sponsor orphans will add a lot to the service of orphans at the level of the Djibouti capital and the interior, Minister Barreh affirmed.
He stressed that his ministerial department, through the Diwan of Zakat and other partners, is working to develop this program to accommodate the greatest number of orphans”. “The Minister took this opportunity to call on all who have had the capacity from philanthropists to workers in the public and private sectors, to owners of businesses and institutions, to pay more attention to the sponsorship of orphans. and to pay what they commit to the Diwan of Zakat in time so that the orphans can continue their studies, he concludes”.
