Comoros: Science And Arts Festival – The State Organizes Its First Edition

The event which will bring together international experts, particularly from the Indian Ocean, will aim to examine how the sea of ​​the islands of this area, in particular that of the Comoros archipelago, can be a vector of sustainable development

The first edition of the International Festival of Sciences and Arts will be held in the Comoros from September 18 to 21. The announcement was made during a press briefing held on Friday September 1 by the director general of the National Center for Documentation and Scientific Research (Cndrs), Toiwilou Mze Hamadi. Placed under the theme “The sea as the future of the Indian Ocean”, the event will be organized by the Cndrs and several other partners, notably the Agence universitaire de la francophonie (Auf), the Indian Ocean Commission (Coi ) the UNDP, the European Union, the French embassy in the Union of the Comoros or even Océan 5.

The event will allow us to discuss how the sea, beyond its threats, can be used with its potential resources for the future. How can we think about a sustainable future for the archipelagic sea of ​​the Indian Ocean countries, and how can the sea of ​​the Indian Ocean islands, more particularly the Comoros archipelago, be a vector of sustainable development? Several interdisciplinary activities are planned, including artistic creation workshops, round tables through scientific debates, cultural activities and a screening of documentary films as well as temporary exhibitions of the works of young talented artists and artisans from the Comoros.

Heritage wealth

Toiwilou Mze Hamadi took the opportunity to express his sincere thanks to the various partners. “I express my thanks to the government, more particularly the Head of State, for agreeing to sponsor this event for the development of the scientific and cultural actions of the Cndrs,” he added.
The countries of the Indian Ocean are essentially islands to inhabit, use, experience, discover and invent.
