Comoros: Pre-Election Campaign – Assoumani Saandi Targets Six Sectors To Fight Against The High Cost Of Living

In his program, the future candidate for the 2024 presidential election proposes 25 commitments to fight against the cost of living. It plans to invest in six sectors that concern the daily food consumption of Comorians.

During a conference organized last Friday, September 15 at the Mtsangani Socio-Cultural Animation Center (Casm), Assoumani Saandi first officially announced his candidacy for the next presidential election of 2024.

Contrary to those who believe that boycotting is the best solution, Assoumani Saandi is convinced that the only way to oust the current regime is to beat it at the polls. “I am a candidate because I am convinced that I hold the keys to resolving the situation in our country. I consider that corruption is corrupting the management of our country. We are among the thirteen most corrupt countries in the world, and I think that the youth of our country have lost not only their orientation,

25 commitments

According to the future candidate, the health situation is deplorable, taking as an example the fact that every citizen is today forced to seek treatment in medical structures in neighboring countries, which demonstrates a failure of our health system.

“Comorians feel that their rights are violated, that the justice system does not respect them, and that political rights are also violated due to the dysfunction of the democratic system. I am convinced that our country is full of talent and human resources, but it lacks a serious, patriotic and competent leader capable of putting the country back on the right track,” he said.
Energy and water are also major concerns for Assoumani Saandi.

In his program, he presents 25 commitments to fight against the cost of living. However, he believes that it is essential to first take administrative measures regarding the supply chain, as well as economic measures aimed at creating a central purchasing body bringing together economic operators and the State.

He also considers modernizing our investment platforms, creating a one-stop shop for supply points, and investing in specialized terminals so that imported products can be processed or packaged on site. “This is one of our areas of solution to reduce the cost of living. The other component consists of investing in six essential sectors, which are at the heart of the daily diet of Comorians, such as bananas, tubers, cassava.
