Comoros: Cccoi de Handball 2022 – Solidarité is at the Rendezvous of Madagascar

The national champions hope to take part in the Indian Ocean Champion Clubs’ Cup. For this, the club will need to collect 7.6 million francs, the estimated budget for the travel of its delegation of twenty people, including fourteen players.

The women’s champion handball club of the Comoros, Solidarité de Moroni, intends to take part in the 2022 Indian Ocean Champion Clubs Cup (Cccoi). Scheduled in Madagascar from October 15 to 22, this 2022 edition should bring together the he group of champion teams in the region and the Comorian players would not want to miss this great meeting on the Big Island for anything in the world. During a press briefing yesterday, the club’s technician, Yahaya Athoumane, largely returned to this objective and to his group: “We are a delegation of twenty people, including fourteen players prepared to make the trip”.

To carry out this project, the champions of the Comoros 2022 place their hopes on public authority. “We are going to knock on every door to make it possible. You should know that we cannot hope for the development of our sport without any high-level experience, and it is with competitions of this kind that our teams will grow”, tries to convince Yahaya Athoumane.

Girls Solidarity is champion for the second successive time. The team wants to “go to coal” against professional teams from Reunion, Mauritius and a very experienced Malagasy team. Comorian handball has won, despite its difficulties, in previous editions of the Ccchoi. “We are one of the most practiced collective disciplines in the Comoros and one of those that has won medals in tournaments in this sub-region of the Indian Ocean. In fact, in 2010, 2012 and 2014, we came back with silver medals at the Indian Ocean Champion Clubs’ Cup,” said the Solidarity coach.
