Cleanergy Solutions Namibia Begins Work on Africa’s First Green Hydrogen Refuelling Station

Energy company Cleanergy Solutions Namibia has started construction on Africa’s first public green hydrogen refueling facility in Walvis Bay, Namibia.

The project includes the installation of a solar energy plant, a 5MW hydrogen electrolyzer and a 5 MWh battery energy storage system for the production of green hydrogen.

Energy produced from the project will be used to fuel trucks, ferries, tugboats, container vessels, locomotives and mining equipment.

In addition, a Hydrogen Academy will be established to equip the local people with clean energy skills and expertise as part of the project.
