Chad: A Loan and Grant Agreement of 13.6 Billion FCFA Signed with the IDB

The Government of Chad, represented by the Minister of Economy, Development Planning and International Cooperation, Moussa Batraki, signed on September 25, 2025 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), an Agreement of loan with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), for the financing of the Islamic Microfinance Project in Chad (PROMIFIT-2) and a grant agreement to support food security, for a total amount of 20,150,000 dollars Americans, or about 13.640 billion CFA francs.

The PROMIFIT project, which is entering phase 2, aims to fight against poverty, improve the resilience of low-income populations and protect them from external threats that affect their livelihoods.

Through this project, the Government of Chad intends to equip the most vulnerable groups to become more resilient and contribute to local development.
