Central African Republic: President Faustin Archange TOUADERA Attends UN General Assembly, Advocates For The States’s Interests

It is with all honors that Vice-President Salvador Valdès MESA received the President of the Central African Republic Faustin Archange TOUADERA. The President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel BERMUDEZ, who flew at the start of the day on Sunday September 17, 2023 to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, instructed his Vice President to receive his Central African counterpart to express the gratitude of the Cuban people for this brief visit to Cuban soil.

Mr. Salvador Valdès MESA recalled the struggles of the Cuban people for their sovereignty and independence despite American sanctions which aim to slow down their development and keep Cuba in poverty. The resistance of the Cuban people remains intact and does not weaken.

The African continent is of capital importance in this multipolar world that all people want. To achieve this, the Cuban Vice President calls on the Central African President to work as soon as possible to strengthen diplomatic relations between Cuba and the Central African Republic. This involves the establishment of diplomatic representation in both countries. A firm invitation from the Vice President was extended to the Head of State for a state visit.

After the usual thanks, Professor Faustin Archange TOUADERA thanked his host for the warm welcome given to his delegation on the occasion of the G77 Summit.

While saluting the resilience and resistance of the Cuban people, the Head of State did not fail to denounce the unjust sanctions that have hit Cuba for more than 60 years. To strengthen bilateral cooperation, the CAR has quickly returned to the issue.

The President of the Republic Faustin Archange TOUADERA in turn flew to New York for the major meeting of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly scheduled for September 18 to 21, 2023.
