The University of Cape Verde hosts, starting today (22/11), extending until the 25th of November, the 12th FORGES Conference (Forum on Higher Education Management in Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions), with the motto “Teaching challenges in new social and geopolitical contexts”.
University of Cape Verde hosts 12th Conference of the Higher Education Management Forum in Portuguese-Speaking Countries and Regions
As underlined by the organization, the main objective of the conference is to promote a Study and Research Network in the area of higher education management and policies in Portuguese-speaking countries. It also aims to bring the entire academic community closer together, in particular educational policy makers, members of the management bodies of higher education institutions, administrators, teachers and researchers, this being an opportunity to reflect on some of the main themes structures of higher education, assuming itself as a reference space for cooperation, sharing, learning and research.
The opening of the conference took place at the Uni-CV Convention Center, with a communication from the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eurídice Monteiro, the President of the Board of FORGES, Margarida Mano, and the Rector of the University of Cape Verde, José Arlindo Barreto . Not to mention the participation of researchers and higher education institutions from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor.
The forum’s program includes the inaugural conference and the closing conference, which are open to the public, as well as plenary sessions, forums on the different axes of the FORGES Academy and parallel sessions, which can also be watched via the web.
