Cameroon: Cocoa – 184 Million FCFA To Mbangassina Producers

184 million FCFA. The sum was granted to cocoa producers in Mbangassina on September 20 this year. The Minister of Commerce, Minister of Commerce, presided over the ceremony on the date mentioned launch of group cocoa sales for the 2023/2024 campaign in Mbangassina, in the Mbam-et-Kim department, Center Region. This initiative, supervised by the National Cocoa and Coffee Office (ONCC), enabled producers in the Mbangassina district to mobilize an impressive quantity of 105 tonnes of quality cocoa.

The sale attracted strong interest, with four buyers participating. After lively debates and proposals from each candidate, it was the CCQ company which finally won the auction by offering an exceptional price of 1760 FCFA. A victory which allowed Mbangassina producers to pocket a sum of more than 184 million FCFA.
For the government, this success is the fruit of an ambitious agricultural policy. The minister, on this occasion, noted the importance of following Mbangassina’s example, by encouraging producers to participate in similar initiatives rather than turning to informal sales channels. “There is no point in engaging in clandestine transactions to sell your cocoa. We must follow the example of what has been achieved today in Mbangassina,” he said TV.
