Botswana: Scotch, Masalela In The Diamond League

Following the World Championships disappointment, Leungo Scotch returns to the track tonight in the Diamond League series meet in Brussels.

Lining up in lane 7, Scotch face stiff competition from the likes of Matthew Hudson-Smith and Rushen MCDonald. Scotch occupies position 13 with 7 points in the 400m standings.

The sprinter requires a minimum of six points from the meet to make it into the top 8 and qualify for the finals in USA the next.

Meanwhile, local 800m runner Tshepiso Masalela will make his debut in the Diamond League tonight.

Masalela had an impressive showing at the World Championships reaching the finals on his debut appearance.

The young rising star will be looking to make an impression in the Diamond meet.

Masalela’s race starts at 2117hrs while Scotch takes to the track at 2153hrs.
