Angola: New Vehicle Title Comes Into Force From Friday

by admin-anb

The National Police begins issuing the new Vehicle Title, from Friday, a document created, within the framework of the Simplifica Project, which contains the physical characteristics of the car and the identification of the respective owner.

The Vehicle Title will be issued, through the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, in an integrated process that involves the Ministry of Justice, through the Motor Vehicle Registration Office.

“The document was created, within the scope of the simplify project, with the aim of reducing bureaucracy, modernizing and increasing the efficiency of public services, in addition to allowing a single inspection action carried out, simultaneously by the National Police and the General Tax Administration”, informed the National Police spokesperson, deputy commissioner, Mateus de Lemos Rodrigues, on the corporation’s official Facebook page.

The person responsible stated that the entry into circulation of the new document does not remove the validity of the previous documents, with the Registration Book and the Car Ownership Title continuing as valid documents for identifying the vehicle and for determining the respective ownership.

“Thus, the citizen does not need to go to the issuing offices to process the Vehicle Title without it really being necessary, given that the old and new documents will coexist temporarily”, the publication reads.

Mateus Rodrigues also announced the payment method, which varies according to the category of services requested, which are as follows:

“Registration and initial registration of light cars 50,254.00 kwanzas; registration and initial registration of heavy cars: 51,512.00 kwanzas; registration and initial registration for trailers: 49,652.00 kwanzas: registration and initial registration for motorcycles: 44. 251.00 ”.
