Angola: EMIS launches “Digital Citizen” project in Benguela

The Interbank Services Company (EMIS), with the support of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), launched, this Wednesday, in Benguela, the “Digital Citizen” project, to promote the safe use of digital payment channels and avoid financial threats.

The administrator of EMIS, Pedro de Abreu, made it known that the objective of this measure is to reach more than 60 thousand people by 2024 and that the project began in September last year, in Luanda, where more than 200 thousand people were reached. In turn, on behalf of the Provincial Government of Benguela, the director of local Education, Edmundo Salupula, said that it is important to raise awareness among the population in the use of new information technologies, expressing confidence in the success of the initiative in the province.
