Mozambique, DRC and Malawi among countries with highest cholera risk

Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Malawi are among the African countries most at risk of cholera outbreaks, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned.

According to the annual cholera report, published in September, cited this Wednesday by Lusa, there is an unprecedented number of outbreaks and a shortage of vaccines to mitigate the disease that also affects Syria and Haiti. .

The document showed an upward trend in the number of cholera deaths, with almost 3,700 recorded in 2023, four times more than three years ago.
