Côte d’Ivoire: Altera Infrastructure Secures 15-Year Contract For Baleine Vessels

by admin-anb

Global energy services firm Altera Infrastructure has secured a contract with global energy major Eni for the implementation of phase 2 of the Baleine oil and gas project offshore Côte d’Ivoire.

Altera Infrastructure has been tasked with the redeployment of the Voyageur Spirit Floating Production and Offloading (FPSO) vessel and Nordic Brasilia shuttle tanker as part of the 15-year contract.

Nordic Brasilia will be used as a floating storage and offloading vessel providing additional oil and gas storage capacity to the Voyageur Spirit FPSO.

Chris Brett, President Altera Infrastructure Production, said “Securing contracts in a promising region like Côte d’Ivoire is a significant acknowledgment of Altera’s capability in delivering complex projects on a fast-track timeline,” adding that the redeployments of the firm’s vessels will contribute to the reduction of cost and emissions for the project while ensuring the initiative is deployed in a timely manner.

Start-up for Baleine phase 2 is anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2024.
