Equatorial Guinea: Egyptian FM Discusses Economic Cooperation With Speaker Of State’s Senate

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Tuesday Speaker of the Senate of Equatorial Guinea Teresa Efua Asangono to confer over pushing forward bilateral relations, and exchange views on regional, international issues, and crises on the African continent.

Minister Shokry stressed the importance of reinforcing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, lauding the current coordination level on the international scale and constant support to Egyptian candidates running for regional and international positions.

The minister also valued welcoming many private Egyptian companies to develop infrastructure in Equatorial Guinea, noting that they enjoyed the support of the Egyptian government. He equally underlined aspiration to implement more projects in Guinea such as establishing a diplomatic academy capitalizing on Egyptian expertise, operating direct flights, cultivating lands, expanding the tourism sector, introducing an Egyptian healthcare center, and exporting drugs and medical supplies.

On her side, Asangono commended the long experience of the Egyptian senate, and the momentum bilateral ties are experiencing. In that context, she asserted the salience of exchanging visits with the aim of bolstering parliamentary collaboration.
