Several African leaders and organisations have sent messages of goodwill and support towards Zimbabwe after a peaceful harmonised election.

Namibian President and leader of SWAPO Hage Geingob took to twitter where he said “On behalf of the people and Government of the Republic of Namibia, I extend warmest congratulations to @edmnangagwa on his re-election as President of Zimbabwe. I also extend felicitations to @ZANUPF_Official our sister party, on the victory in the peaceful elections of 23-08-23.”

ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula also congratulated President Mnangagwa on the victory.

Zambian politician Fred M’membe of the Socialist Party also took to twitter where he said “CONGRATULATIONS COMRADE MNANGAGWA

Dear Comrade President
@edmnangagwa: I congratulate you for a perfect ZANU-PF great electoral victory. We continue counting on you to advance efforts to defend our sovereignty, development interests & prosperity for our peoples. @SPZambia”

David Richard of the Pan African Christian Business Network said that the organisation was proud of a free, fair and peaceful election and environment which prevailed in Zimbabwe. David Richard added that while there were logistical challenges everyone who was eligible and wanted to vote managed to vote.

Zimbabwe held its harmonised elections on the 23rd and 24th of August 2023. All observers agreed that voting was peaceful.

The World Youth Assembly in New York USA also added its weight and support behind President elect ED Mnangagwa. Ediola Pashollari the Secretary General of the World Youth Assembly noted that the election was peaceful and transparent.

Last month Nelson Chamisa said there was no room for rigging in this election as the opposition CCC had placed safeguards to ensure that the elections are free, fair and transparent.
