Morocco: Defense – Abdeltif Loudyi Receives A Delegation From The American Congress

In execution of the Very High Royal Instructions, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of the National Defense Administration , Abdeltif Loudyi , received, Friday at the headquarters of this Administration, a delegation of parliamentarians from the American Congress , in the presence representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Rabat.

The congressmen took this opportunity to highlight the excellence of the historic relations of friendship and cooperation linking the United States and the Kingdom of Morocco , consolidated by a strategic military partnership based on an important legal arsenal, mainly the sheet of road for defense cooperation 2020-2030 signed in October 2020, during the visit to Morocco by the American Secretary of Defense , indicates a press release from the National Defense Administration .

The congressmen also stressed that military cooperation relationscontinue to strengthen thanks to the work of the Defense Advisory Committee and the exchange of visits by senior officials of the two countries, adds the same source, noting that they also praised the important role of the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty Majesty King Mohammed VI , may God help him, in the service of peace and stability in Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

For his part, Mr. Loudyi mentioned the tripartite declaration, signed between Morocco , the United States of America and Israel in December 2020 before His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as he recalled the decision to recognize the United States. The minister also welcomed the decisions taken by the American Congress and the Senate relating to the American Defense budget “NDAA” relating to the military cooperation of the United States of America with the Kingdom, it is indicated, adding that he reiterated the importance of bilateral military cooperation through the exchange of experiences and expertise, materialized in particular by the regular holding of the multilateral military exercise “African Lion”, which further strengthens the interoperability of forces.

At the end of this meeting, the two parties welcomed the dynamism of this cooperation, while expressing the common desire to explore new opportunities for cooperation, notably cyberdefense, space and the defense industry , the press release concludes.
